People spend most of their lives inside, forgetting how good is for their health staying in the open air and, at the same time, how beautiful the surrounding nature is. So, the Winmart Design company from Singapore has decided to bring nature indoors with LeGrow, a creative indoor garden with modular LEGO-like blocks.
Chinese designer Haobin Lindecided to create LeGrow after he realized his daughter, growing up in a city, might not have a childhood in contact with nature, the same nature that he loved so much and that he had in his youth so, inspired by the LEGO game, he designed an indoor garden system. The LeGrow system includes planter pots, USB ports, humidifiers and LED lamps. The planter pots are all modular according to tastes and needs, and are equipped with internal reservoirs to reduce waste and liquid spills.
LED lamps provide light for more than six consecutive hours for multiple plants, have a maximum output of 50,000 lumens and allow plants to grow at any time of year. Humidifiers with nebulizers help create an atmosphere conducive for growing plats indoor, where air tend to be dry due to heating and air conditioning. The humidity, in addition, not only creates a suitable environment but it can also improve human health by reducing eye strain and softening skin. The energies generated by LeGrow thanks to chlorophyll photosynthesis are specifically targeted towards home office use: they can power the humidifiers and system's lights but can also charge a smartphone or tablet via four USB ports.
Winmart Design has recently landed on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform and has already raised about $ 45,000 in 20 days.
