The Hills at Vallco: how to be green in Silicon Valley

Sep 07, 2015 | written by:

At Cupertino, which is considered the heart of Silicon Valley, a new, beautiful, green and eco-sustainable project is going to be realized. Its name is The Hills at Vallco and it will be a green roof which will cover the commercial buildings of Vallco with beautiful trail network for jogging and walking, vineyards, orchards and organic gardens, an amphitheater, children’s play areas and a refuge for native species of plants and birds.

The Hills at Vallco is environmentally-conceived and will target LEED Platinum certification, uses recycled water for irrigation, heating, and cooling, and recaptures rainwater to reduce water consumption. The green roof, natural ventilation and smart technology will ensure energy efficiency, keeping buildings and surroundings, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

If you know about other projects like this one please let us know: will write a blog post on them!
