Just one step can make a big difference. Recently our amazing team at Treedom has been taking part in several community projects. We believe in the power of doing things together - to combine our efforts, multiply our impact and make meaningful change through small steps.
We started in Germany, where our team participated in two environmental cleanup events.
The first was in Berlin, on 15 April. Together with our team members and digital creator Luisa Dellert, there were about a hundred people, despite the rainy weather. Several buckets, sacks and bags full of rubbish were collected; mainly plastic and countless cigarette butts.
Everyone who participated received a Treedom tree as a gift, trees that were planted in the digital forest of di Louisa.
The following week, on Earth Day, 22 April, it was the turn of a new waste collection initiative, this time held at various locations in Germany with the support of Radio Teddy. The initiative involved around 350 participants, including some schools. All those who participated received a free Treedom tree as a thank you for their efforts.
Then it was Italy's turn, again on Earth Day. Treedom partnered with the association Plastic Free to promote clean-up activities and raise awareness of plastic pollution. As part of this partnership, Plastic Free volunteers and Treedom employees joined forces for a morning of waste collection in Florence. In just a few hours, the team of about 45 people collected over 1,500 kg of waste.
Small actions like these can make the world a little cleaner – and of course we hope that, through initiatives such as these, we can also encourage those who leave litter behind to stop and think before they do so in future!
