There's nothing more important to us than hearing from our amazing tree-planting community, and we especially love to hear about times when gifting a tree has made a special occasion extra-meaningful. So we asked some of Treedom's biggest supporters to tell us their own stories – and were so inspired by the answers we thought we’d share them with you!
An original wedding favour

“For our wedding, we wanted to send a message to our guests and we thought doing this by planting trees and creating a forest in our name would be a meaningful gesture
We decided to involve our guests by attaching a card to the wedding favour (which was, not surprisingly, a terracotta tree), with the aim of making them aware of the importance of planting trees for the good of the planet and the wonderful opportunity offered by Treedom.
For us it was also a way to be closer to the environment on a day when we often don't care about waste.
When we decided to join Treedom we felt part of a great project that starts from the bottom. We feel strongly that everyone must do their part and send out a signal. Planting a forest and knowing that our trees grow thanks to the commitment of the local people involved, excites us and makes us proud of this decision.
Our experience with Treedom has made us feel an active part of a great project that involves not only us, but many other people and communities in other parts of the world. Thanks to the regular news that Treedom sends us, we feel close to the farmers, rangers and local communities that take care of our trees and we like this a lot, it's as if we were there with them every day”

“I received a tree from a really good friend for my birthday this year. I had never heard of Treedom before, or the possibility of giving a tree as a present.
So I decided to give a tree to my husband for our 10th wedding anniversary. It seemed to be a really good idea for people who already seem to have everything they want. I loved the surprise on my husband’s face! He loves the idea of Treedom too.
I think giving a tree or planting a tree this way is really valuable, to do something sustainable, help make the world a better place and preserve the earth as a living place.

“Ever since seeing Life on Earth by David Attenborough, I’ve been fascinated by all things nature. When the pope launched Laudato Si, our church gave a list of organisations that supported this initiative. After checking it, I decided on Treedom because it was a very complete initiative: not simply putting in trees and that’s that, but also improving economic development, natural resources, and environmental development.
